Headache Treatment
Chances are - it really is all in your head...

According to the World Health Organisation –

Headache itself is a painful and often disabling feature of a relatively small number of primary headache disorders. …  A wide range of headache types have been classified in detail by the International Headache Society… The most common among them – tension-type headache (TTH), migraine, cluster headache and the so-called chronic daily headache syndromes – cause substantial levels of disability.”

In developed countries, Tension Type Headache (TTH) alone affects two-thirds of adult males and over 80% of females. Extrapolation from figures for migraine prevalence and attack incidence suggests that 3000 migraine attacks occur every day for each million of the general population. Less well recognized is the toll of chronic daily headache: up to one adult in 20 has headache every or nearly every day.

WHO spokesman Benedetto Saraceno said “even though headaches aren't fatal, they represent long-term disabilities for countries, companies and families worldwide.

"People have to stay in bed, they become unable to function socially or work," added Dr. Fred Sheftell of the New England Center for Headache in Stamford, Connecticut.

According to the U.N. health body, the most common headaches are tension-related, migraines, and chronic daily headache syndromes. They affect all age groups and layers of society in developed and developing countries.

Also –

According to WHO figures, roughly half of the people who suffer from a headache on any given day do not receive any treatment.

The Good News

Most of them are treatable!

The research has shown that almost all of these most common types of headaches are related to disturbances in the way the teeth, jaw joints and jaw muscles function.

That’s right…

Your teeth may be causing all of those headaches!

This means that your headaches may be treatable with a high level of success, by your dentist at Integrated Dentistry, if they are among the most common headaches – tension-related headaches, migraines, and chronic daily headache syndromes.

So … before you take too many more drugs to do little more than reduce the pain (a little) come in to see us at Integrated Dentistry, and see if we can help you with Headache Treatment.
